Prime Minister Hun Sen Sends his Good Wishes to Viet Nam on Lunar New Year and the 92nd Founding Anniversary of CPV

Phnom Penh: Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen, president of the Cambodian People’s Party (CPP), has extended his congratulations and felicitations to the senior leaders of the Communist Party of Viet Nam (CPV) and state leaders of Viet Nam on the occasion of the Vietnamese Lunar New Year and the 92nd Anniversary of the Creation of the CPV.

“During the call with general secretary of CPV Nguyen Phu Trong, Cambodia’s CPP Leader and primie minister Hun Sen has extended his earnest congratulations on the great achievements that the Party, the State and the people of Viet Nam have recorded in recent times, especially the important results in implementing the Resolution of the 13th Party Congress, as well as the response to the Covid-19 while continuing the sustainable socio-economic development in the "New Normal.”

Cambodia’s premier has expressed his conviction that under the clear-sighted and righteous leadership of the CPV, headed by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, the people of Viet Nam will continue to score greater achievements in national defence, construction and reform. Prime Minister Hun Sen has also wished Viet Nam’s leader , other party leaders, state leaders and the people of Viet Nam a new year full of good health, happiness, prosperity and success.

On the other hand, Viet Nam Secretary General of CPV, Nguyen Phu Trong has expressed congratulations on the significant achievement of Cambodia in the past years, especially the effective response against Covid-19 pandemic and the creation of the preconditions for the full reopening of the economy. He has demonstrated with confidence that, under the wise reign of His Majesty King Norodom Sihamoni, the leadership of the Senate and National Assembly of the Kingdom of Cambodia , the effective management of the Royal Government of Cambodia with CPP holding the key role, and the leadership of Prime Minister Hun Sen, the country and the people will continue to achieve greater accomplishments in the national construction and development, including the fruitful organization of the communal election in 2022, the general election in 2023, and especially the ownership in the role of the ASEAN Chairmanship 2022.

The two Parties’ leaders have noted with satisfaction that the ties between Cambodia and Viet Nam have been continuously strengthen and deepened with numerous important achievement across different areas, contributing to the maintenance of political stability and socio-economic development of both country and bringing practical benefits to the people of two countries. During the past year despite the difficulties caused by the Covid-19, the two sides maintained frequent high-level relations, interactions, and exchanges in different formats, including the successful organization of the trilateral meeting t-of the three Party Chiefs of Viet Nam, Cambodia and Laos, the State Visit of President Nguyen Xuan Phuc to the Kingdom of Cambodia, as well as various virtual meetings between Leaders of the two Parties and of the two countries.

The General Secretary of CPV and the President of CPP have agreed that the two Parties and the two countries needed to sustain and effectively one of the existing bilateral mechanisms. The two parties will continue working closely together to expand and improve the effectiveness of the bilateral cooperation in all areas, prioritise to the effective implementation of the signed agreements to further deepen political ties, continue to consolidate the pillar of cooperation in defence and security, enhance economic connectivity to foster shared development , promote close coordination and mutual support at regional and international forums.
